The Hundreds x Concord Records is a Soulful Tribute to Jazz Music
Presenting fresh graphics to honor Miles Davis, Duke Ellington and Wes Montgomery.
The Hundreds has whipped up a smooth graphic-led capsule to pay homage to the genre of jazz. A soulful, sonic sound that served as a key catalyst in cultural, social and political movements alike, jazz’s influence is unquantifiable, but The Hundreds ensured to deliver an authentic capsule that encapsulates its wide-ranging impacts. The streetwear imprint tapped Concord Records – a home to many of the genre’s most storied performers – to curate a handful of new graphics that commemorate Miles Davis, Duke Ellington and Wes Montgomery.
“Both design and jazz music are forms of artistic expression that require skill, creativity, and an understanding of how to engage and communicate with an audience,” the pair prefaced in an Instagram caption. “They both celebrate the beauty of improvisation, the power of creativity, and the ability to convey emotions and stories through the perspective mediums.”
The capsule consists of a lineup of new graphics, each of which pays tribute to Davis, Ellington or Montgomery. Graphics – which appear on t-shirts, crewnecks, hoodies – land in an array of vibrant hues, bringing each of the three artist’s distinct ethos and artistry to life.
Accessories include a three-pack of pins – each pin a homage to one of the three artists – as well as a mug, which lists the names of Davis, Ellis and Montgomery with The Hundreds and Concord Records included underneath.
