Christopher Nolan Reportedly Cashed in Nearly $100 Million USD from 'Oppenheimer'
The Universal film recently won seven Oscars.
After taking home two Oscars for Oppenheimer, which is arguably one of the biggest films this year, Christopher Nolan‘s biggest feat may be his salary from the project.
The period drama which focused on the father of the atomic bomb, J. Robert Oppenheimer, earned Nolan a payday of nearly $100 million USD. Variety has learned this from close sources of the project and has broken down the figure which includes a “combination of salary, backend compensation box-office escalators and a bonus for his twin Academy Awards.” Oppenheimer won seven Oscars this year, including one for Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr.. The film was made on a $100 million USD budget and earned about a billion dollars worldwide.
With Universal as his film partner for Oppenheimer, it remains to be seen if he will continue a relationship with the studio to create his upcoming films. Nolan has not yet announced a new project.
