AAPENOW’s 2024 Spring/Summer Collection is an Ode to Japanese Design Heritage

The collection, including tracksuits, sleeveless vests, and the introduction of sun-protective jackets, will launch alongside the AAPE Store Kyoto opening.

Tokyo is an epicenter for design and urban culture, setting streetwear trends that circulate far beyond Japan. Embracing this eclectic streetwear aesthetic, AAPENOW, a subset of AAPE BY *A BATHING APE®️, decided to head to Tokyo for its latest Spring/Summer 2024 collection campaign: an ode to the blend of both contemporary and heritage Japanese influences that the range encompasses.

This collection is characterized by duality — it’s both wearable and accessible, yet still highlights sophisticated silhouettes and tones. The collection’s color palette, delicate yellows, soft pinks, and tranquil teal-blues, reflects the serenity of the natural backdrop where the campaign takes place, in Sentō, Japan. AAPE’s signature camouflage print, as well as bolder plaid and striped patterns, act as foils to the more muted colorways included in the assortment.

Juxtaposing many of the understated aspects of the collection, such as relaxed fits and tedious tailoring, more playful motifs appear across the collection — from fresh plum-blossom insignias to denim patches. These complementary design elements mirror the inventive nature of Japanese fashion culture, which pushes the boundaries by blending minimalism with a street style flair.

AAPENOW’s 2024 Spring/Summer range highlights athletic tracksuits, vests, t-shirts, shorts, and a new launch for the brand: sun-protective jackets. Each lightweight jacket is crafted from UPF40+ UV-resistant materials, inviting wearers to explore the outdoors and ensuring protection from harsh ultraviolet rays.
