Rick Owens — the lord of darkness — has become synonymous with eerie aesthetics and boundary-breaking design techniques. His partnership with Dr. Martens constantly flies off shelves, kicking off in 2021 and dropping several monstrous silhouettes since.

Rick Owens and Dr. Martens’ previous collaboration launched in 2022, delivering calf-length brutalist-goth boots bonded by the former’s signature wide laces. The duo are back this year to retool the ultra-modern 14XX range. The experimental division announced late last year puts classic on steroids, charging the 1460, 1461, and 2976 boots with futuristic redesigns.

Rick Owens takes on the all-new 14XX incubator, merging bold leather uppers with squared tongues and bulky DMXL soles. The designer’s 1460 DMXL Megalace boot boasts black Lunar leather and oversized accents, seeing crossed and layered laces become the main focal point. The pearl megalace pattern is secured to silver rings for a welded look, while profile zippers allow easy access. Dr. Martens’ classic yellow stitching completes the pair stacked atop structured rubber soles with geometric pods.

Take a closer look at the Rick Owens x Dr. Martens 1460 DMXL Megalace boot collaboration above. The pair will drop via Dr. Martens, Rick Owens, and select retailers such as HBX on February 8.
