NAHMIAS Taps Argentinian Artist Andrés Reisinger for Playful Capsule Collection

Menswear brand NAHMIAS has been carving out its name in the space with colorful garments that nod to its Los Angeles roots. In January, NAHMIAS debuted a skate shoe fitting named “The Ollie” and prior to that, the brand collaborated with the NHL team, the Arizona Coyotes.

For its latest release, Don Nahmias tapped one of the most forward-thinking digital artist’s of today, Andrés Reisinger. The Argentiaian artist has made waves for his 3D work and recently executed his first installation in Miami’s Design District through his namesake studio.

The collaborative capsule with NAHMIAS transforms some of Reisinger’s imaginative digital artwork into ready-to-wear pieces. A beige blazer and trouser set is dotted with beaded apples. The same apples appear on a pair of faded denim jeans, lending a playful touch to the otherwise rugged garment.

A standout piece in the capsule is a mohair sweater that softly blends shades of cream, yellow and purple. Blue daisies are subtly embroidered into the shoulder. In another look, a black blazer adds tensions to a grey NAHMIAS-branded zip-up hoodie, paired with the aforementioned apple jeans.

To mark the capsule, NAHMIAS will be taking the collection to a storied luxury boutique, Los Angeles’ Maxfield. True to the partnership between the brand and the artist, the takeover of the space takes the form of an experimental gallery. The thoughtful interior of the space is accentuated with giant apple posited at the center of the room, surrounded by the garments.

The occasion is particularly touching for Nahmias, who recalls that, as a child he visited Maxfield and “instantly fell in love with it—the vibe, the prestige, the art.”

“If it wasn’t for Maxfield, I don’t think I would be the designer I am today or have pushed my boundaries so hard,” he continued. “Now, doing a gallery takeover with Maxfield for NAHMIAS and having the window display on Melrose—it’s moments like these that make it all worth it.”

The NAHMIAS Maxfield gallery takeover will run from February 29 to March 7.
