Jimmy Butler’s Emo Alter Ego Returns in Fall Out Boy’s “So Much (for) Stardust” Video

Fall Out Boy has dropped the music video for the title track of their latest album, “So Much (For) Stardust.” The project dropped in March 2023, marking the rock band’s eighth studio LP.
Starring in the video is a familiar face: Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler. Donning a purple Western getup with a cowboy hat to match with flat-ironed hair tucked underneath, the basketball player has once again assumed his emo identity, a look that debuted at the NBA’s media day in October.
“I’m in a winter mood, dreaming of spring now / I’m burning myself down / Burning myself down, burning,” vocalist Patrick Stump sings.
Butler has previously shared that his favorite music genre is country, making the look fitting even if it doesn’t quite match Fall Out Boy’s own sound.
