First Look at the Nike Air Max Plus Golf "Sunset"
Just don’t stare too long.
Since revealing plans for a modified golf version of the Air Max Plus in black/white, Nike subsequently lined up a simple Triple White rendition and now is set to release the silhouette in perhaps its most recognizable colorway: Sunset. And although it may be difficult to discern its differences to the lifestyle counterpart, there are a few updates which make it more suitable for playing golf.
The first of those comes on the upper section which would normally be constructed from mesh. For the golf version Nike opted to build this portion out of leather both to protect the foot from water and preserve the appearance of the orange gradient. Next up, the mudguards and backtabs shed their synthetic build for premium pebbled leather, adding an elevated touch. And then finally a swatch of textured suede arrives on the tongue to frame the bubble Swoosh. Of course no Nike golf sneaker would be complete without a reinforced outsole which adds a bit of grip on the fairways and greens.
Having tallied the upgrades, the final retail price of $185 USD is in line with what Nike normally asks for the Air Max Plus in its most rudimentary form. As far as the release date is concerned, nothing is solid yet. But expect these to arrive sometime this coming spring.
