RAINS Sheds Its Skin in Layerable Lunar New Year Collection
The Snake capsule – “an ode to renewal.”
With Lunar New Year on the horizon, brands are beginning to prep for the imminent Year of the Snake. Scandinavian rainwear brand RAINS is one of the first to slither onto the scene with its “Snake Capsule,” spanning ten new pieces of outerwear.
Rooted in renewal, the snakeskin-designed garments signal the start of a new beginning, reminding us to shed the skin of the year behind us and enter the new one feeling refreshed and revived. The storied snakeskin print comes reimagined by RAINS in two new ways – a striking transparent iteration and a sleek embossed version – that are imbued across a lineup of rain jackets and pants as well as accessories including a rain cap and carry-all bag.
Evoking the enigmatic and enticing aura of the snake, the capsule is defined by its layerable nature – what a statement from RAINS refers to as “new layers to live in.” Leading the pack is a trenchcoat-style rain jacket that lands in the transparent print, complete with a tie across the waistband. Similarly, the same pattern is imbued on a shorter-length take on the coat as well.
As for the embossed edition, the print surfaces on a drawstring rain jacket and its corresponding weatherproof wide-legged pants.
