As the new year enters in sight, New Balance is readying celebrations for the Lunar New Year with a release of a moon-inspired colorway for the 1906R. Following the understated New Balance 1000 “Lunar New Year”, the shoe brand has released a different iteration for another silhouette. Taking a lighter color scheme for the holiday, the shoe features a dark-to-light gradient greyscale color scheme that starts from the heel to the toe. The heel counter is hit with a dark grey while lighter shades are amplified by reflective touches. An evergreen aesthetic for Lunar New Year appears to be the approach that New Balance takes on the shoe, as opposed to highlighting the Chinese Zodiac animal. Look out for the shoe arriving next year.
