New Balance is setting up for the new year with a different approach. Readying for the upcoming Year of the Snake, many other sneaker brands are going full out with their renditions of the snake print. New Balance is taking a more subtle approach, dropping a minimal “Lunar New Year” iteration that is instead, inspired by the phases of moon. Dressed in a mostly black and metallic silver color scheme, the shoe’s base upper sees a transition from grey to black as you go from the heel to the toe. Metallic silver hits border of the New Balance logos on the lateral and tongue, contrasted by the black leather overlays. The shoe features reflective laces as it sits atop a black midsole and semi-translucent grey gum outsole.
