Bottega Veneta Curates Venetian Artisans For Annual Holiday Gift Guide

For 4 years the luxury Italian fashion house has rolled out its ‘Bottega for Bottegas’ initiative highlighting local crafters from its home city of Venice, Italy.

Bottega Veneta‘s seasonal artisanal craft curation ‘Bottega for Bottegas’ has arrived in its fourth annual installment, introducing Venetian craftspeople and artists to its global audience. A play on the Italian term for “artisanal workshop,” Bottega Veneta’s initiative is aimed at honoring its cultural heritage in fine crafts.

Glassware purveyors dominate the list, reflecting the millennium-spanning tradition of glass-making from Italy. Laguna B, the maker of the tall striped vase found in the campaign, is led by artistic director Marcantonio Brandolini, who’s introduced contemporary leaning collections made by the company’s master glassmakers. Artist Bruno Amadi, who’s been experimenting with nature-inspired glass creations in his Campo San Polo workshop since 1974 creates everything from starfish, insects, vegetables and more with his skillful techniques.

Elsewhere, Signnor Blum offers sculptural wooden jigsaw puzzles inspired by Venice’s architectural marvels and its local environment. Each of Signor Blum’s 3D puzzles are hand-drawn, cut, and colored. With more than a century under its belt, Fonderia Artistica Valese is the last remaining foundry in Venice. The company creates brass and bronze sculptures and interior hardware using sand-casting methods, inspired by local cultural motifs.
