We’re just a few weeks away from 2025 and Jordan Brand is preparing for a year to remember as it commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Air Jordan 1 with an onslaught of exciting releases. Adding to the lengthy list of rumors and first looks, we now have an initial preview of an Air Jordan 1 High ‘85 “Royal” that, surprisingly enough, was not rumored before this unveiling.

Revealed by Chase B, the pair joins the iconic “Bred” look in adorning the original ‘85 shape of the AJ1, arriving in place of the cancelled Air Jordan 1 Low ‘85 “Royal” release that we spotted at the end of October. As one would expect, a leather upper hosts black and “Varsity Royal” blue throughout with the all-too-familiar Wings logo returning to the collar.

At the time of writing, Jordan Brand has not confirmed that this “Royal” iteration of the Air Jordan 1 High ‘85 will be dropping. Stay tuned for updates, including official imagery, as we currently expect the colorway to drop in the next year or two via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $250 USD.
