While silver details are a staple in ASICS‘ design vernacular, the sneaker purveyor is releasing one of its most chromed-out models yet with the GEL-NYC “Pure Silver.” Sitting atop a muted duo-tone midsole, shiny silver leather makes a bold statement from the tongue right through to the leather base of the mesh uppers.

The interplay between matte silver overlays and the larger lustrous silver panels extending from the heel to the toe caps strike a delicate balance amplifying all of the details of the retro running silhouette. ASICS’ classic wide-gauge mesh underlays add depth to the design, peaking out from underneath the chrome overlays and at the head of the tongue. ASICS’ logo and wordmark appear in navy blue embroidery, showing at the standard placements on the tongue and the center of the heel.

While the colorway is named “Pure Silver,” the model boasts a rich Midnight Navy stripe over the aged off-white midsoles. The ultra-dark blue hue also appears on the medial overlays at the quarter panel, and the off-white hue reprises within the mesh lining and the laces. Finally, metallic silver sole details are visible from the arches, inlaid into two-toned black and cream outsoles.

The ASICS GEL-NYC retails for $155 and will be released on November 15 at the ASICS web store.
