VANS TOKYO DESIGN COLLECTIVE Is "In Transit" For New Collection
Tadayuki Kato and Shinsuke Nakada’s Vans’ offshoot offers up another impressive delivery.

Tadayuki Kato and Shinsuke Nakada‘s VANS TOKYO DESIGN COLLECTIVE Vans’ sublabel continues to push the needle on the label’s signature silhouettes and styles. The latest in the lineup of impressively innovative yet still true-to-form deliveries from the outfitter is entitled “In Transit” and looks to retro sportswear as its core source of inspiration.
Leading the range is a new footwear model entitled the “LX Knu Skool MTE.” A reimagined spin on a classic silhouette, the sneaker features a mixed-material upper that amalgamates both wool blend and leather throughout. The joints also land in two colorways of black and black to align with yet still elevate the rest of the release with its fiery-red lacing. Elsewhere, the new Knu Skool sneakers also see three-dimensional, textured side stripes as well as an insulting Primaloft interior.
On the clothing front, Kato and Nakada’s label offers up a handful of outerwear pieces that lift design inspiration from vintage athletic apparel. Jacketing pops, with some standouts spanning down puffers that surface in a slew of vibrant shades, and more minimal corduroy shackets. Elsewhere knit sweaters and corduroy pants close out the cohesive release.
