Stone Island Sound Returns With Community Curations, Factory Playlists and More
In tandem with the C2C Festival in Turin, Italy, where the brand has its own stage for acts like A.G. Cook, Billy Woods and John Glacier throughout this weekend.
Stone Island has always had a strong hand in the music world, from outfitting the Italian paninaros in the ’80s, the British indie rockers and the Acid House ravers in the ’90s, the Grime rappers in early 2000s and mainstream hip-hop stars, like Jay-Z and Drake, into today. In 2022, the Italian label launched its own music venture, Stone Island Sound, with a slew of curated C2C Festivals around the world. Now, after a brief hibernation, the brand is reviving its sound project and expanding it to include several new features inspired by its own mantra: “Community as a Form of Research.”
The new-age Stone Island Sound will include three new platforms for musical expression and community building. Among them, _Stone Island_Factory will house seasonal playlists named after the four seasons in Italian that will be released on a quarterly basis. _Stone Island Sound_Curated By will feature playlists made by Stone Island community members, beginning with John Glacier and Yaeji. Lastly, _Stone Island Sound_Live will host a full back catalog of live music recordings from previous performances at Stone Island Sound and Stone Island Presents events.
