UNDERCOVER SS25 Captures the Beauty of Fetish

Jun Takahashi’s latest women’s collection explores the promiscuous theme with elegance and serenity.

Amidst the flurry of flashing lights and provocative showcases at the latest run of Paris Fashion Week events was a poignant grace furnished by UNDERCOVER’s Women’s Spring/Summer 2025 lookbook. Jun Takahashi again flexed his ability to masterfully combine distinct themes by “incorporating fetish-inspired designs into everyday wear that has a twist.”

As one begins to page through the 46-look arrangement, a balance of newness and familiarity is struck in an instant. The elaborate set design — which transforms from backdrops rich in color to a discrete spotlight at the midpoint — intricate headwear and abstract poses aptly fit the expansive UNDERCOVER universe. Meanwhile, the looks themselves walk the line of the extreme and the modest, all the while eschewing both absurdity and boredom. Fastening systems of various types tie into the overarching theme while serving a functional purpose of uniquely binding silhouettes to suit various body types with ease. Takahashi’s adoration for art is demonstrated once more as he looked to Italian painter Robert Bosisio — who was featured in the brand’s men’s runway collection for SS25 — for ethereal artwork applied to garments.
