In a follow up to Bottega Veneta’s SS25 presentation in Milan, the Italian fashion house has launched a new product line that expands Bottega’s craft-focussed universe into the beauty sector. Matthieu Blazy’s highly acclaimed work as creative director at the brand will now extend into new territory with the launch of five luxury scents.

In an interview for the Wall Street Journal, Blazy opened up about the development of the house’s new scents. The designer told WSJ “I said at meeting one, I don’t want to have anything gendered—zero (…) For me, in the world we live in, it doesn’t make sense.” The unisex scents are forward-thinking in this sense, as luxury brands are challenged with adapting to the shifting notions of gender identity among younger consumers.

While pushing the brand forward, the scents are also rooted in its Veneto heritage. Fragrance notes reflect the diverse cultural make-up that characterizes the brand’s home: Italian Bergamot, Geranium from Madagascar, Guatemalan Cardamom, French Angelica oil and Myrrh from Somalia. Drawing inspiration from traditional Venetian glassblowing, the bottles are made with an innovative process that recreates the irregular air bubbles found in hand-blown Murano pieces. The amorphous bottles are topped with Croatian wood caps and sit atop a slab of Verde Alpi marble.

In recent years, luxury houses have shifted strategy to dedicate more focus onto the booming beauty and personal care industry. In July, Pharrell launched his first fragrance as creative director of Louis Vuitton and Swedish brand Acne Studios made its fragrance debut with Frederic Malle in March. Compared to the aforementioned releases, Bottega Veneta’s launch is the most expansive yet, and boasts the highest retail price at $450 per bottle.

The full range of Bottega Veneta scents, including “Déjà Minuit,” “Colpo di Sole,” “Acqua Sale,” “ Alchemie” and “Come with Me,” is available now at the brand’s web store in 100ml and in a discovery sample set.
