Nike is releasing the iconic Air Force 1 Low silhouette in a timeless “White/Royal Pulse” iteration. More than just a slight change to a storied classic, the latest pair adheres to the Swoosh’s Move to Zero initiative, which aims to curb carbon emissions by 70% by 2025 and reach net-zero by 2050.
Without reinventing the wheel, the upcoming AF1 boasts a white leather upper complemented by a striking powder blue hue along the Swoosh, heel, tongue and outsole. The latter component appears ordinary at first glance, but is engineered with “grind sole” technology, made sustainably from repurposed rubber and designed in line with Nike’s Next Nature campaign, which incorporates at least 20% recycled content by weight and promotes product reusability.
