Louis Vuitton Unveils First Permanent Tableware Collection
Including a selection of cutlery and glassware.
Dinner is served at Louis Vuitton. The French luxury fashion house has officially expanded its offerings, revealing its first permanent collection of tableware at a special high-profile fundraising gala that hosted 200 gusts at the exclusive Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte. WWD reports that the luxury brand unveiled two new ranges of cutlery and glassware in tandem with the dinnerware sets.
Over the weekend, Louis Vuitton chairman and CEO Pietro Beccari hosted the event benefitting International Friends of Vaux-le-Vicomte. Amongst the crowd were American architect Peter Marino, film producer Christine Schwarzman and La Comtesse Patrice de Vogüé. While last year, LV dipped their toes into a seasonal tableware collection, that was used in its resort stores, restaurants and cafés, this time around Louis Vuitton is ready to make the full foray into dinnerware collections.
Titled Constellation and Splendor, the two comprise of complete sets of porcelain, cutlery, glasses, carafes and decanters. According to the house, they pieces are “designed for all of life’s moments, from everyday meals to special occasions.” It continued, “The graphic spirit of Monogram flowers on fine porcelain and handblown glass, along with the herringbone pattern on shimmering silver or the LV initials illuminated in fine gold, allows each piece to fuse the heritage of the maison with its modernity.”
The Constellation collection of Limoges porcelain features a total of 13 pieces that reimagine the Monogram elements while Splendor spans across a range of 17 pieces with a playful iteration of the “L” and “V” branding. As for the cutlery line Rivet, it consists of 14 stainless steel pieces that feature the tubular shape. As for the silver-plated Rivet Épi range, it boasts handles that take design notes from the “wheat fields rippling in the sun.” In terms of glassware, Louis Vuitton offers twist glasses and Flower carafes in four colors of Murano glass. The Constellation and Rivet collections arrive in LV boutique stores on October 31 while Splendor and Rivet Épi release on November 14.
