Disney and Lucasfilm are currently trying to figure out a possible storyline to give the Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi series a second season.

Ewan McGregor, who portrayed the role of the Jedi Master in the prequel films and the Disney+ series, confirmed the news during his recent appearance the the LA Comic-Con and stated that the two companies are “exploring” new ideas to bring the show back. “Obviously, between the end of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series and when Alec Guinness is Obi-Wan Kenobi, there’s got to be another few stories in there,” he told the crowd via Deadline. He added that he would like to do “a couple of things” in the Star Wars universe, including wearing the armor.

The actor further stated that the most challenging part of creating the series was the de-aging process, but he’s willing to go through it as it will reunite him with actor Hayden Christensen, who portrayed Anakin Skywalker in the prequel films and the series.

While McGregor and Christensen have always been open to returning for a second season, it seems like the company execs are just as keen. In 2022, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy revealed that they are open to considering a season two if both the demand and story are there.
