Hender Scheme and Pendleton Unveil Inaugural Americana-Infused Collection
Blending the Japanese label’s expertise in premium leather goods with Oregon-based Pendleton’s heritage in wool fabrics.
Hender Scheme has announced its inaugural collection in collaboration with American wool textile manufacturer Pendleton. The line incorporates Pendleton’s classic wool fabrics and patterns into the Japanese brand’s premium leather-based accessories and footwear.
Hender Scheme’s expertise in footwear shines in two reimagined styles from the brand’s familiar styles. The first footwear silhouette takes a classic derby style made with pebble leather uppers and a patterned wool fabric panel over the toe box. The formal style comes in two colorways: black leather with a greyscale wool panel, and brown leather with a technicolor wool panel. The second silhouette takes the form of a clog that wraps Pendleton’s signature Northwestern pattern over the entire upper, while corked insoles provide a craft-forward feel.
The Pendleton’s patterns are found on Hender Scheme’s varsity jackets available in two colorways. The line also features two sizes of handbags made in the recurring woolen fabric along with protective leather handles. The collection is topped off with a range of leather wallets in black and tan finished with embossed Pendleton prints.
The first Hender Scheme x Pendleton collection will be available at Hender Scheme’s Sukima, Kappabashi, Miyashita Park, and Osaka locations and Hender Scheme’s web store on October 26.
