18 East and Nanga Reunite for Hardy "Winter Trek" Collection
The seven-item range includes two down jackets produced in Japan by Nangia and five handmade 18 East pieces, each crafted in India.
Almost 11 months to the day since they first collaborated in November 2023, 18 East and Nanga are back with their second co-created effort: a hardy “Winter Trek” collection. Consisting of two collaborative jackets and a five-piece range of accompanying 18 East apparel, the offering is inspired by the craftspeople in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains and the serene beauty of a winter trek to go visit them.
Jacket-wise, 18 East has reimagined Nanga’s signature Hooded Range Jacket and Lookout Jacket. The Hooded Range Jacket is dressed in an earthy mocha hue, is made of 10dn recycled nylon and is lined with 155g Spanish duck down, among other features. The Lookout Jacket, on the other hand is seeing its second reimagining at the hands of 18 East after the above-mentioned 2023 collaboration. It’s constructed of flame-resistant Japanese Takibi fabric (a textile that any fan of Snow Peak apparel is undoubtedly familiar with). It boasts the same water-repellant duck down as its compatriot.
As for the collection’s non-down jacket apparel, the matching Banks Utility Fleece and Azzenden Fleece pant are made from hand-block printed deep pile sherpa cotton that’s 100% organic. The former features an array of pockets, and the latter supplies pinchable leg openings. The Tizi mountain shirt is handspun from exploded ripstop cotton and serves up four pockets of its own, while the TAC cargo pant nods to vintage climing and military silhouettes. Lastly, the Hirock Half Sleeve Crewneck offers a boxy, oversized fit with a unique crop and an asymmetrical snap pocket.
Look for the 18 East x Nanga “Winter Trek” collection to drop at Nanga’s flagship store in Harajuku on October 25. It’ll then drop online via the 18 East webstore October 30 at 11 AM EST, and release via 18 East’s New York City studio shortly therafter.
