A24 Releases Trailer for Hugh Grant-Led Horror Thriller 'Heretic'
Directed by the minds behind the ‘A Quiet Place’ franchise and supported by co-stars Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East.
A24 has unveiled the trailer for Heretic, a religious horror thriller starring Hugh Grant and directed by creative duo Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. The trailer sets the scene for the plot which begins with two Christian missionaries, played by Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East, who come upon an isolated house in the woods owned by the unassuming antagonist Mr. Reed, played by Grant.
Soon the girls realize that they’ve stepped into the wrong house as Mr. Reed traps them in a twisted game of cat and mouse. A mysterious room contains two doors, a choice between “belief” and “disbelief.” The trailer hints that behind the doors lies horrors that the girls must successfully navigate in order to escape alive. Grant’s character maintains a friendly composure throughout the trailer, even as he puts the missionaries through terrifying scenarios, enhancing his character’s devious manner.
Scott Beck and Bryan Woods are the directors behind the A Quiet Place franchise, which is close to reaching cult-status for its take on apocalyptic horror. The duo also directed other thrillers like Nightlight, Haunt and 65.
Along with new horror releases like Heretic, this fall A24 is bringing favorites like Hereditary, It Comes at Night and Killing of a Sacred Dear throughout the month of October.
Heretic arrives in theaters on November 8. See the full trailer above and stay tuned with Hypebeast for the latest movie news.
