Seasoned collaborators Converse and Stüssy love to lean into loudness for their joint footwear offerings; with striking patterns, tangible textures and eye-catching hues at the core of most of the duo’s deliveries – including its most recent February two-pack of collaborative Chuck 70s – the latest Converse x Stüssy link-up is no exception. The pair is shedding the hairy suede fabric skin of past releases and instead presents a reptilian-inspired take on the Chuck 70.
Engulfed in snakeskin-style leather, the sneaker’s silhouette is covered in scales. Taking a neutral green and cream colorway, the camouflage-colored scaling is interrupted only on the outsole and lacing – both of which land in all-white. Snakeskin even covers the place in which the Converse Chuck 70’s circular heel stamp is typically placed, while a reworked Converse All Star star comes embroidered on the other side of the heel.
Instead, the Converse All Star logo is placed on the interior of the heel, while a cobranded tag appears on the tongue and another Stüssy logo defines the insole.
