Suunto's Bone Conduction Headphones Are Designed for Athletes on the Go
Taking a durable, open-ear design approach.

Finnish audio company Suunto is offering a new method for athletes and those constantly on the go to experience sound. The brand’s latest release, the Suunto Wing headphones, uses a type of technology that many may not be familiar with.
It’s called bone conduction and essentially means that a given pair of headphones will send audio waves through the user’s skull rather than their eardrums, allowing them to still maintain a sense of their surroundings by being able to hear outside noise.
The Wing headphones feature an open-ear design, made out of titanium and silicone, and transmit sound through the cheekbones. Suunto says that its bone conduction approach also allows individuals to wear the headphones for long periods of time without compromising their health and safety.
True to its athlete-minded design, the Wing is waterproof and capable of being submerged for up to 30 minutes. They’re also versatile across hot and cold temperatures and can be worn comfortably under a hat.
The Suunto Wing headphones are available in red and black for $199 USD on the brand’s website.
