Ralph Lauren Releases Lunar New Year Polo Bear Watch
Limited to only 50 units.
Renowned American heritage brand Ralph Lauren is celebrating the Lunar New Year with the release of a new Polo Bear watch.
The celebratory timepiece comes together with a striking 38mm silver stainless steel watch body and a black grosgrain silk strap with leather detailing. But what makes the watch is the brand’s standout Polo Bear figure that covers the watch’s cream-white lacquered dial. The dapper bear appears in a red velvet smoking jacket with a satin shawl lapel and a golden dragon embroidered on the chest for the Lunar New Year.
Also completing his outfit are black satin-striped tuxedo pants and embroidered black velvet slippers. Finishing off the Polo BEar are three red envelopes with golden dragons in his hand that nod to the meaning of good health and prosperity. On a technical side, the watch features Ralph Lauren’s RL2000 caliber self-winding Swiss movement and vertical Côtes de Genève stripes.
Just last month, Polo Ralph Lauren unveiled its new “Artist In Residence” featuring a collection by textile artist Naiomi Glasses. With the first and forthcoming two collections, Glasses taps into her Diné (Navajo) roots across pieces that nod to ancestral design and culture.
