Lionel Messi Puts His Own Spin on the adidas Samba
Enjoy a first look at two colorways of the hit silhouette that feature references to the Argentine superstar.
Lionel Messi cemented himself as an all-time great after winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup for Argentina and the fan mania surrounding the superstar hasn’t calmed down one bit since. After making the move to Inter Miami last year, he was able to immediately produce results — leading them to their first League Cup trophy. Meanwhile, his work with adidas has continued with special jersey releases and apparel drops now being joined by two special Messi-themed Sambas.
In a brief preview of the two colorways, the first pair offers a white leather base that is accompanied by the Samba’s typical gray suede mudguard. From there, blue laces match the tongue, lining and Three Stripes while gold hits the heel and “MESSI” text above the Three Stripes. Another callout to the Argentine legend comes courtesy of his logo debossed at the lateral heel and present at the tongue. As for the second pair, it takes on a much more plain finish — pairing the same base with a gum sole and purple at the Three Stripes and heel while the typical “SAMBA” text is present as Messi’s logo appears in neon green at the tongue.
At the time of writing, adidas has not confirmed any release details surrounding both of these Lionel Messi x adidas Samba colorways. Stay tuned for updates and an official breakdown as both pairs are likely to hit the market in the coming months via adidas and select retailers.
