UNDERCOVER SS24 Is Faceless, Haunted, and Mystified

The eerie collection saw Takahashi at his best, enveloping looks in tulle and lighting up ballgowns that encased blooming gardens.

Jun Takahashi‘s UNDERCOVER is grounded in mystery, constantly leaving viewers in awe at Paris Fashion Week. The Japanese designer held his Spring/Summer 2024 showcase in an underground car park, seeing shattered and lit chandeliers lying on the floor wrapped in tulle. Every seat housed a graphic scarf with folklore illustrations, defining the collection with a haunting energy.

UNDERCOVER’s SS24 collection was eerie and mysterious, seeing low-pitch cellos torment the cement venue. Models strolled slowly down the runway, oozing with ambiguity. The 57-look collection saw Takahashi at his best, beginning the showcase with mesh-covered suiting pinned with roses and gemstones. Printed varsity jackets and T-shirts were pre-faded to perfection, followed by metallic formalwear overrun by bedazzled spiders.

Essential UNDERCOVER hoodies were wrapped in yellow netting, complemented by polka-dotted textiles that blew against the wind. Demonic workers came alive on vibrant car coats and satin uniforms, seeing reigning kings and queens appear on boxy suits in dim-lit hues. The SS24 show ended with three terrarium ballgowns encased with flying butterflies brightening everything in sight.
