MGM Resorts, known for its properties on the Las Vegas Strip like the Bellagio, Aria and Cosmopolitan faces its fourth day of outages as a direct result of a cybersecurity attack.

Since the attacks began, a ransomware gang by the name of Scattered Spider, thought to be a subgroup of ALPHV, has come forward to claim responsibility — although, at the time of writing, it’s unknown if they’ve made a request for ransom payment and if they have to what amount.

As the hack continues, MGM’s properties face a variety of outages including downtime for various accommodation solutions like access keys and out-of-order ATMs and slot machines at its casinos. Some reports have even indicated that staff at some locations have resorted to pen and paper to log guests, resulting in massive reception lines.

Despite this, the only public statement MGM has made in recent hours is that it is continuing “to work diligently to resolve our cybersecurity issue.” The resort group also responded “Our investigation is ongoing, and we are working diligently to evaluate the scope and nature of the issue. At this time, we do not have additional information available to share,” to a comment asking how much information was stolen.

While details are scarce at the time of writing, the FBI is also reported to be conducting an investigation, with updates likely to surface via MGM’s official channels in the coming days.

In related tech news, Apple released an emergency iOS software update to protect against exploits.
