On September 19, Louis Erard and Konstantin Chaykin unveiled their second Le Régulateur aka Time-Eater watch collaboration. Just like the preceding release back in April, the new iterations also sold out within the same day of its launch. Earlier this month, news confirmed that the original model has been nominated for this year’s GPHG awards, for the “Petite Aiguille” category.

Going by the name of Time-Eater II: From Dusk to Dawn, the new collaborative references remain faithful to its inventive predecessors, but with a few more spooky twists. Described by the watchmaker as a “negative print” of the original, the former light-colored and wavy-patterned guilloché dial now arrives in black.

The dial features Likho, a one-eyed monster from Slavic folklore known to be a grotesque embodiment of misfortune and evil fate. For the new iterations, the creature’s singular eye now arrives in a blood-shot look, while the squirming pupil serves as an hour indicator. The pupil is also significantly larger than the original model, which evokes a much more terrifying and manic mood when paired with the veiny eyeball, and saw-like teeth, complete with a singular red hand to read minutes.

The Time-Eater II: From Dusk to Dawn was offered in a 42mm polished steel version and a 39mm PVD sandblasted steel edition, with only 178 examples made for each variant. In addition, the Le Diptyque set featuring both models, as well as the Le Quadriptyque limited-edition box set which comes with the two original models on top of the new ones, are also all sold out.
