Yuga Labs, the Web3 company behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT collection has announced a collaboration with iconic Japan-based streetwear brand, A BATHING APE, better known as BAPE.

While little information has been shared as to what type of items the collaborative capsule will include, BAYC did share that fans of both brands can expect to see designs that reflect “lazy opulence and irreverence.” Based on the teaser image that was shared, it appears there will be at the very least one Ape Head logo tee, with various BAYC elements and inspirations integrated into it.

The Bored Ape pictured on the tee can also be seen wearing a button-up that features the classic BAPE camo motif but utilizing the BAYC skull logo in place of the usual distorted Ape Head logo — leading us to believe this may be a standalone item as well.

Access to the tee and other potential items in the collection will primarily be exclusive to holders of BAYC digital collectibles and those who own BAPETAVERSE collectibles, BAPE’s Web3 collection. However, a broader release is expected across various BAPE retail locations and on its official site.

“As Fashion goes hand-in-hand with Web3, particularly in the current times, where the two have the power to impact each other almost instantaneously, we are thrilled to present this groundbreaking collaboration with Yuga Labs,” said Thomas Hui, the COO of BAPE.

Despite the BAYC digital collectibles being down roughly 64 percent year to date, Yuga Labs has continued to show that it can leverage the IP it’s built in order to secure partnerships like its most recent with BAPE. The collection is set to launch on November 5 during BAYC’s ApeFest event in Hong Kong.

See the official announcement in the BAPE post below, which includes a MILO plush tucked away at the top of the closet.
