Sony PlayStation 5 Drops Its Price for the First Time
Soon to hit additional retailers.
Sony’s signature console, the PlayStation 5, has dropped its price for the first time since its release.
The latest iteration in the PlayStation console series hit the market in November 2020 and has since been a converted mainstay in the gaming community. Originally priced at $499 USD, the gaming console was difficult at time to acquire upon its release – with the PS5 routinely selling out online and in stores. As of late, the console has been readily available but it still harbored its original $499 USD price tag.
Now, the console has received a slight discount and is now priced at $449.99 USD at Monoprice. The console is priced at $459.99 USD at GameStop. Pro members can save an additional $23 USD as the console retails for $436.99 USD. Although the discount is not insane, it does help to shave off a bit from the console.
Recently, a leaked video surfaced of the Sony PlayStation 5 Project Q handheld. To date, the video has offered the best look at the forthcoming device. Alongside the video were images that showcased the handheld console’s eight-inch HD LCD screen, DualSense controls on the side and more.
In other gaming news, Sony x Marvel debuted a limited-edition Spider-Man PS5 console and controller.
