Khoki SS24 Is Sketched Into Reality
Recalling childhood memories through youthful designs that focus on quality craftsmanship.
Japanese label Khoki prefers to conceal its designers’ identities, asking viewers to judge them through their otherworldly creations. Khoki has become recognized for its whimsical designs pulled from imaginary lands, approaching Spring/Summer 2024 through an alternative lens.
Last season, Khoki stormed Tokyo Fashion Week with fantastical storylines and dramatic silhouettes spearheaded by “elven princesses, snow witches, and impish goblins.” For SS24, Khoki recalls fond childhood memories, sketching the collection into reality with youthful illustrations. This is Khoki’s first themeless offering since 2019, channeling its efforts into brand identity and craftsmanship.
The brand’s patchwork identity is reflected across quilted track jackets and repurposed Levi’s denim featuring blossoming flowers and dynamic stars. Abstract decor is cemented into fuzzy leopard-print cardigans paired with layered kilted trousers. Essential denim jackets are splattered in silver, while zippered skirts ooze with utilitarian flair and ruffled blazers exude schoolboy attitude.
