Nearly exactly a year ago, Offset filed a lawsuit against Quality Control Music, claiming that Migos‘ longtime label was asserting wrongful ownership over Offset’s individual music, allegedly ignoring a deal both parties agreed to in 2021. As of yesterday, the legal battle is now officially settled, as the rapper dismissed the lawsuit once and for all.

The rapper filed to dismiss the case with prejudice in Los Angeles Superior Court. Pitchfork confirmed the news after reviewing the documents initially obtained from and reported on by TMZ.

Quality Control’s response to Offset’s claims at the time the suit was filed: “Not only are the accusations in this lawsuit false, they are totally detached from reality. Offset remains a part of QC. Back to business.”  Though this appears to no longer be the case.

“Jealousy”, the rapper’s latest offering alongside wife Cardi B, was released under Motown Records along with much else of Offset’s recent music catalog. His 2022 single “5 4 3 2 1” – produced by Baby Keem – was also released under Quality Control Music’s subsidiary, Motown; in the initial lawsuit, Offset claimed that Quality Control sought credit as “holding an ownership interest” in the recording. Revisit the duo’s latest offering “Jealousy” and the dramatic music video to go along with it.
