Fred again.. Connects With Obongjayar for New Single “adore u”
The two artists debuted the song during the most recent Lollapalooza festival in Chicago.
Fred again.. is gearing up to hit the road this fall for his tour that spans across London, Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris New York and Los Angeles. And ahead of the concert run, he’s been teasing snippets of new songs that’s got in the vault, one of which has finally been released to the masses: “adore u” which features London-based crooner Obongjayar.
The song samples Obongjayar‘s “I Wish It Was Me,” a track from the Nigerian artist’s 2022 album Some Nights I Dream Of Doors. It showcases Obongjayar’s chilling vocals gliding gracefully over a backdrop of progressively uplifting house music. The composition gradually infuses a surge of warmth and euphoria, culminating in an unexpected twist and assertive hip-hop sample that seamlessly integrates without disrupting the vibrant atmosphere.
The two artists debuted the song live for the first time at the most recent Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago. Fred again.. expressed that he worked on the song as a tribute to his sister before learning that Obongjayar wrote the lyrics to his own tune for his own sibling.
