Fortnite Shares 'Last Resort' Cinematic and Gameplay Trailer Ahead of New Season

With the new season of Fortnite, Chapter 4 Season 4 Last Resort, just hours away from release at the time of writing, Epic Games has taken to YouTube to share both a cinematic trailer revealing new characters and an official gameplay trailer to get the excitement going.

Both trailers reveal hints of what the new season might entail, including an underlying heist theme, underscored by luxurious architecture, art, suits and vehicles. The season also includes a variety of new weapons including a gold-plated tommy gun dubbed the “Midas’ drum gun,” alongside a surpassed sniper and pistol, as well as a host of explosives.

New characters making their debut include a vampire named Dado Thorne, story protagonists Nolan Chance and Piper Pace, alongside names like famous TikToker Khaby Lame, a muscular fish named Fish Thicc and most notably, the outcast Jedi warrior Ahsoka Tano.

Set to launch early in the morning today, Friday, August 25, Chapter 4 Season 4 is sure to be full of explosive fun and excitement — while downtime is scheduled to begin at 3:00 am ET, the complete rollout of the new season, Last Resort, should commence shortly after.

In other gaming news, Sony’s portable “Project Q” device will be called the PlayStation Portal.
