Jacob & Co.’s New Dual Time Zone Watch Is a Homage to Its Family Heirloom
Marking the premiere of The World Is Yours collection.
Known for its extravagant and avant-garde approach to high watchmaking, Jacob & Co. has just revealed a brand-new Dual Time Time Zone as the first chapter of The World Is Yours collection.
In addition to incredible craftsmanship, the new time-teller is focused on telling a much more personal story of its founder, Jacob Arabo. The inspiration stems from a Wakmann dual-time watch that Arabo’s father had gifted him when he was about 13 years old. That specific timepiece became a driving force behind Arabo’s passion and determination for watchmaking, which has since become a family heirloom.
Measuring 43mm in case diameter, the timepiece is attired in 18k rose gold and houses a spectacularly crafted curved blue lacquered dial. The tantalizing watch face comes adorned with three rose gold-hued continents in stamped finishing. At the center of the dial sits a compass that slightly overlaps with the polar-positioned time zone indicators. Also outfitted in 18k rose gold, the caseback features an engraved depiction of the rest of the world map.
As for power, the watch is geared with the new and exclusive JCAA11 caliber, a self-winding movement that’s equipped with 42 hours of running time. Completing the time-teller is a tonal blue alligator strap with an 18k rose gold pin buckle that corresponds to the watch case.
Priced at $57,000 USD, the new Dual Time Time Zone is released in a limited production of 999 pieces. To enquire about its availability, head over to Jacob & Co.’s official website for more details.
