Euphoria creator Sam Levinson has shared an update on the show’s upcoming third season.

In the recent Elle cover story of lead actress Zendaya, Levinson briefly shared that season three of the successful HBO series will be a “film noir” from the perspective of Zendaya’s Rue, and will “explore what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world.” He also opened up about working with the actress stating that “[s]he’s the most competitive person I know, in a good way,” and is “constantly growing as an artist and always seeking a challenge.” Levinson added, “She’s never complacent.”

An official release date or plot for season three is yet to be announced, and there is talks of a time jump following the end of season two. The upcoming season will also not see the return of staple characters, including Barbie’s Ferreira Kat after the actress confirmed her departure from the role, and Fezco, following the sudden death of Angus Cloud.

Stay tuned for more info.
