Spanish tennis superstar Carlos Alcaraz is serving suave looks for his first-ever Louis Vuitton campaign as the French luxury house’s newest ambassador. Fresh off his Wimbledon win, Alcaraz makes his debut in the LV Men’s New Formal Collection campaign, dedicated to modern tailing.

In the video and photo campaign, Alcaraz lends his choreographic movement and tennis skills to show off Louis Vuitton’s latest creations. The Spanish wunderkind is seen in athletic poses, serving, using a forehand follow-through, all while wearing the brand’s newest tailored pieces and evening attire. Louis Vuitton has long leaned into their consumer base’s love for sports, reminding its audiences that fashion and sports go hand in hand. Timeless businesswear like modern tuxedos are showcased with conventional LV motifs. Previously football stars like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were spotted in major Louis Vuitton campaigns.

The campaign with Carlos Alcaraz was captured by Dan Jackson at the Hôtel de Maisons. The 18th century mansion is located on the Rue de l’Université in Paris and is where the late Karl Lagerfeld called home for over 30 years. Alongside the campaign is a 21-page lookbook. In a statement to WWD Alcaraz said, “As an athlete, it is not every day we get to dress up, but there are special occasions and it feels good to show up looking and feeling great. I think as I have grown up, I definitely have more appreciation for a well-tailored suit.” The collection worn by Alcaraz is from Pharrell Williams‘ first collection as the house’s men’s artistic director. On Williams’ appointment, Alcaraz said, “He’s an icon. Is there anything he can’t do? Like everyone else, I’m excited to see what he does at Louis Vuitton.”

Louis Vuitton has been amping up its ambassadorships in the sports world. Just last month the brand signed French champion swimmer Léon Marchand. Other notable tennis players for the brand include Naomi Osaka and Wu Yibing and in other sports — skier Eileen Gu; soccer player Sam Li; rugby player Dan Carter, and snowboarder Su Yiming. This collection will land in stores in January 2024.
