Tkay Maidza Drops Flume-Produced Track “Silent Assassin”
Following her collaboration with Snakehips “Show Me the Money.”
Tkay Maidza has linked with Flume for a new track called “Silent Assassin.” Produced by the Australian DJ, the song opens with a futuristic, electronic beat before Maidza joins in with her own fast-paced bars.
“Run it up, up in the streets, I’m GTA‘s Ricky Bobby / Fifty kill, I’m on streak, I COD’s, now they caught me,” Maidza raps. “Run the bill up when I eat than Chuck a Brick in the lobby / I’m out the box, they wanna beef, we can get rowdy like Roddy.”
The single was released along with a music video that sees Maidza drive out to the desert in her jeep, performing to an aerial camera among the sand dunes.
“I like to move in silence, but this song is a reminder that people shouldn’t count me out or underestimate my abilities; they should be afraid when I’m quiet as I come back more evolved,” Maidza said of the new release. “I’ve always wanted to work with Flume and was immediately ecstatic when he played the instrumental for this; I wanted to channel Busta Rhymes and Missy Elliott.”
