The former NFL and MLB star Deion Sanders has reportedly re-signed with sportswear conglomerate Nike. The renewal of his partnership with the Swoosh comes after he had previously vowed to never work with the brand again.

Sanders and Nike had a falling out in the early 2000s, but have since reconciled their relationship with the most recent news of the agreement. Sanders played in the MLB from 1989 to 2001 and the NFL from 1989 to 2005, becoming the only player to ever make it to the World Series and the Super Bowl. During his tenure as an active athlete professional MLB and NFL athlete, he had his own sneaker with his signature line of Nike Air Diamond Turf training shoes. The first of the line debuted in 1993, followed by the sequel in ‘94, the Diamond Turf Max in ‘96 and the Air Diamond Turf 4 in ‘97 and lastly the Air Diamond Turf 5 in ‘98. Sanders’ signature shoe became one of Nike’s most popular shoes in that particular era. However, the relationship hit a downfall, causing Sanders to sign a long-term partnership deal with Under Armour in 2009.

The announcement comes after Sanders posted to Instagram with a pair of his original Air Diamond Turf, while also wearing a co-branded Nike long-sleeve t-shirt. The caption read, “We coming @nike.” ESPN‘s Nick DePaula also took to Twitter to confirm the news. Sander’s deal is rumored to be worth $10 million USD annually. It is unclear how many years his new partnership contract will go on for with Nike.
