Update: July’s still going on strong but for many sneakerheads, all eyes are on the months to come. Aside from the end of year holiday season, Halloween is poised to be another key moment for brands such as Nike. Already, we’ve seen early looks at both a “Sweet Tooth” version of the SB Dunk High and Ja Morant’s Ja 1 “Halloween.” Now, the latter has appeared once again with a detailed breakdown of the kicks. As described in our initial coverage below, this neon green colorway sees special Swooshes and heel graphics create a spooky presentation for the kicks. Look for release to go down this October and stay tuned for additional updates.

Original Story: There are still a few months left before spooky season commences, but Nike is getting a leg up on the October festivities by teasing some of its celebratory footwear. NBA point guard Ja Morant will be participating in the action with his Nike Ja 1 “Halloween” colorway which has just been revealed by way of early imagery.

The court-ready kicks are costumed with a ghastly get-up. Mesh upper and accompanying leather forefoot overlays are fitted with a Frankenstein-esque green hue and accompanied by olive green Swooshes. The latter is done up with slashed-up textures and creepy skeleton hands on the medial sides. If you look at the kicks from the rear side, you’ll notice that ghastly hand patterns are printed on the heightened region and sit adjacent to Nike checks and “12” hits that are filled in with a blood-red hue. Downstairs, the Zoom-cushioned bottoms are dressed with a two-toned gum and green color scheme. Additionally, Morant’s signature logo appears on the tongues and insoles for extra flair, the former of which rests atop a brown banner.

Expect Nike and other retailers to launch these hoop kicks sometime closer to the October 31 holiday.

In case you missed it, detailed images of the forthcoming Nike Kobe 6 “Reverse Grinch” colorway have surfaced.
