New Balance often keeps creativity at the forefront, setting unmistakable touches on its athletic and lifestyle silhouettes. New Balance places its 996 model under the spotlight, delivered in “Grey” and “Navy” colorways with protruding removable patches at the medials.

The relaxed design begins with a tonal mesh base, enhancing the toe boxes, ankle collars, and tongues. Hairy suede overlays run across the mudguards, lacing systems, profiles, and heel counters while swaying “N” logo patches detach from their customary position when requested. The New Balance branding is accented in grey and white leather, complementing the tinted laces and bright tongue tags.

Clear leather heel tabs and creamy rubber shields complete the rear design, mutually stacked atop pre-yellowed cushioned midsoles and two-toned rubber bottoms.

Take a closer look at the latest iteration of the New Balance 996 in the gallery above. Both colorways will launch on July 28 at 10 a.m. via New Balance Japan.

In case you missed it, the NOCTA x Nike tech fleece is revealed in black.
