Montblanc Readies the Ice-Breaking 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen CARBO2 for Only Watch
Premiering an innovative CO2 middle case.
Montblanc has prepared a special 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen CARBO2 timepiece for its fourth participation of Only Watch. The one-of-a-kind time-teller debuts an innovative CO2 middle case and will be sealed inside an oxygen-filled “ice block.” The block of ice is actually composed of safe breakable glass, giving its future owner the liberty to break the piece out or leave it frozen in time for display.
Its overall appearance loyally encapsulates the 1858 Geosphere’s defining characteristics, such as the rugged round case, bi-directional bezel, and glacial ice-inspired dial. The caseback boasts a titanium build, emblazoned with 3D color laser-engraving of Mount Everest. Surrounding the scenery are rainbow-hued letterings, depicting the 14 highest peaks around the world.
On the side of the case stars a luminous glacier-blue outline of Mount Everest. It’s also equipped with a world-time complication and runs on Montblanc’s own MB 29.25 automatic movement.
Montblanc’s one-off 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen CARBO2 will be presented at Only Watch in Geneva coming November 5. It’s estimated to sell for 25,000 – 35,000 CHF (approximately $28,467 – $39,854 USD) and more information can be discovered at its designated webpage over at Only Watch’s official website.
Elsewhere in watches, Bulova broadens its Frank Sinatra Collection with a Rat Pack-inspired timepiece.
