Blxst x Remble – “child of GOD”

Blxst enlists Remble for his latest cut “child of GOD,” with the artist describing Remle’s feature as one that “highlights the dichotomy of good and evil.” He continues, “We’re both speaking from a perspective of imperfection, we’re born sinners and we’re touching on that in a tasteful way. This song is embracing that fact, being imperfect makes you a child of God, makes us all human, makes us all relatable.”

Jamila Woods x duendita – “Tiny Garden”

Jamila Woods announces her first album in four years, Water Made Us, with the single “Tiny Garden” featuring duendita. “Tiny Garden is a song about the way my heart works, the slow and steady way I love,” she says in a statement. In my directorial debut I wanted to create a visual representation of how I often feel in relationships, like I’m having huge feelings that I end up expressing in small specific ways. The video takes place across two landscapes, the reality of a shared apartment at the tail end of winter and an imagined “heartspace” where everything is lush and green. I worked with my friend and frequent collaborator Po Chop on the choreography, so that the movement becomes the key to merging these two worlds — everywhere I dance, something is watered, something grows.”

Erick the Architect – “Parkour”

Erick the Architect delivers his first single of the year “Parkour,” which features production from James Blake. The track is described as the journey the artist started after moving to Los Angeles from Brooklyn, with Erick adding, “It speaks on what it was like to make that move and why I did it — but not forgetting that where I’m from is integral to my growth.”

Yussef Dayes x Masego – “Marching Band”

Yussef Dayes and Masego collaborate for the former’s latest single “Marching Band,” which is set to appear on his upcoming debut solo album Black Classical Music. The record drops September 8.

Shamir – “Our Song”

Shamir drops off his second Homo Anxietatem single “Our Song,” with the album dropping August 18. “It took about three months to write this song, which is the longest it’s ever taken me to write a song. The music video is a love letter to my band. Grant Pavol and Rhea Freed are the only reason I still play live. I wanted the video to focus on the three of us as a band,” he shares in a statement.
