Audemars Piguet Quietly Drops New 34mm White Ceramic Royal Oak
One of the rarest case offerings from the Swiss timepiece manufacturer.
Audemars Piguet (AP) has just quietly released a new watch and while it’s not known to be a limited run, it is offered in one of the rarest case materials from the Swiss timepiece maker.
The brand new 34mm Royal Oak is presented in a white ceramic case, a rare material against AP’s steel offerings due to its hard bonding making it difficult to craft. Nonetheless, AP managed to give the timepiece a pristine satin finish featuring brushed edges.
Inside the case, collectors will find a silvered Grande Tapisserie dial with pink gold applied to hour-hands and Royal Oak hands that are treated with luminescent coating. Other details treated in pink gold include the iconic Royal Oak bezel screws as well as a ring at the caseback that reveals the Calibre 5800.
As for technical specifications of the movement, the automatic winding Calibre 5800 holds a power reserve of 50 hours, features 28 jewels and runs at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations an hour.
For interested collectors, the new 34mm Royal Oak in white ceramic, priced at $53,000 USD, is available now via appointment through AP’s official site.
