Summary

  • Audemars Piguet launches new summery Royal Oak Offshore Chronographs in 42 mm and 37 mm sizes
  • The 42 mm models feature vibrant pink, turquoise, yellow and orange accents, powered by Calibre 4404
  • The 37 mm line debuts Calibre 6401, with titanium, pink gold, and diamond‑set bezels

Just in time to capture the vibrant, sun-drenched energy of summer, Audemars Piguet has unveiled a fresh fleet of Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronographs. The collection’s unapologetically free spirit, these new iterations celebrate the daring aesthetic that first earned the Offshore its famous “Beast” moniker upon its launch in 1993. Across both 42 mm and 37 mm case sizes, AP blends robust, contrasting materials with cutting-edge engineering, inviting wearers to follow the call of the open sea and embrace a life in constant, thrilling motion.

The 42 mm Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph makes a bold and adventurous statement, drawing its narrative inspiration from the high-performance offshore racing boats that influenced Emmanuel Gueit’s original vision. The iconic Méga Tapisserie dials are vividly brought to life with striking touches of pink, turquoise, yellow, and orange, thoughtfully echoing the lively dashboards of racing machines through an innovative printing technique. These dynamic shades trace the tachymeter scale and chronograph counters at 9 and 12 o’clock, illuminating the dial while oversized Arabic numerals reinforce the watch’s fiercely sporty character.

Offered in three distinct variants, spanning a pink-accented stainless steel model, a dark gray titanium version contrasted with yellow and turquoise, as well as a monochrome silver-toned steel piece energized by orange details. Each watch is secured by an interchangeable textured calfskin leather strap that gracefully matches its vibrant palette. Beating within is the Calibre 4404, an integrated flyback chronograph movement that delivers a generous 70-hour power reserve. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the refined mechanics put a sophisticated column wheel and a striking 22-carat pink gold oscillating weight on full display. Pricing for the 42 mm models is set at 33,600 CHF (approx. $42,500 USD).

Stepping into a more compact but equally spirited silhouette, the 37 mm Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph represents a thrilling leap in modernity. For the first time in this size, the collection introduces titanium cases, wrapping the wrist with an alluring lightness and refined comfort. The elegantly contoured case features a bezel curved seamlessly from 6 to 12 o’clock and redesigned push-piece guards with polished angles that flow beautifully into the case middle. The dials present an elegant evolution of the classic Tapisserie pattern with larger squares, adorned with new bathtub hands and subtle luminescent hour-markers that glow green in the dark. A visual feast awaits in three variations: a breezy turquoise titanium model, a bright pink titanium iteration framed by a sparkling diamond-set stainless steel bezel, and a luxurious 18-carat pink gold piece illuminated by a diamond bezel and a light blue dial.

At the heart of these models lies the debut of the newly developed Calibre 6401, a selfwinding integrated column wheel chronograph that replaces a movement used by the Manufacture for nearly three decades. Engineered entirely in-house over five years, the caliber features a reduced thickness and a highly responsive vertical clutch system, offering a 55-hour power reserve while revealing its rhodium-toned 22-carat pink gold oscillating weight through an open sapphire caseback. Priced between 36,300 – 54,100 CHF (approx. $41,100 – $68,500 USD) depending on the material and gem-setting, the watches are paired with interchangeable rubber straps bearing the AP monogram molded into the underside. Head to AP’s official website for more details.
