In celebration of the first flagship store opening of the titular New York City-based streetwear brand, Awake NY founded by Angelo Baque, the brand links up with VERDY for an exclusive capsule collaboration.

Celebrating the opening at 62 Orchard Street, Awake NY has found a home on the Lower East Side, a place that is very dear to the Queens native. In an interview with Hypebeast, Baque recently detailed his fond childhood trips to the neighborhood. The founder has been a product of the “golden era” of streetwear, widely considered as one of the key staples in the industry. Calling the Awake NY store in the Lower East Side a “full circle moment,” the store stands out as a cultural hub. Throughout the store, Awake NY’s community is on display along with the extensive listo f collaborations the brand has recently released with the likes of Denim Tears and Fear of God.

Joining that extensive collaboration to celebrate the opening is a new collection with VERDY. A collection of t-shirts highlight the capsule, featuring the iconic VERDY character sitting on a globe, very much like the one seen in-store at the new Awake NY flagship. Below the graphic is of course the label’s branding. The shirts arrive in three colors, in red, black and white. The Instagram post launching the exclusive opening merch announces that the capsule will become available on Friday, June 2 at 12 p.m. EST, in-store only. Check out the post below.

In case you missed it, eBay has officially launched its Authenticity Guarantee services for streetwear.
