Optimus Prime Meets Optimus Primal in New ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ Clip
The first installment in the franchise’s new trilogy hits theaters on June 9.
A new clip has been shared from Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Originally shown at the MTV Movie & TV Awards, the video snippet is called “Prime Meets Primal” and sees a showdown between Optimus Prime and the Autobots and the Gorilla leader Optimus Primal and his tribe of Maximals.
“Who are you, and why are you hunting for the king?” Optimus Primal asks the stars of the human cast, played by Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback.
Rise of the Beasts is the first installment in a planned trilogy from Paramount Pictures. Set in the 90s, the film is billed as introducing “the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons.”
Steven Caple Jr. is directing a cast that – alongside Ramos and Fishback – includes Michelle Yeoh, Pete Davidson, Peter Cullen, Ron Perlman, Peter Dinklage, Liza Koshy, John DiMaggio, David Sobolov, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Cristo Fernández and Tobe Nwigwe.
