Nintendo has released a new trailer for its forthcoming title The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which brings the emotions back to adventure games.

Albeit sometimes newly creative, game trailers typically follow a formula that entails showcasing the game’s new features and actionable highlight moments. But Nintendo took it a step further this time, opting for a slightly sentimental approach to the magic of games. The trailer takes us through the life of a gameplayer who is seemingly sad at first. But as he plays the game, it’s clear that he begins to feel a bit of joy – playing it at home and on the go with his Nintendo Switch.

Also featured in the trailer are gameplay moments like building a boat to cross a river, battling monsters and soaring through the sky. The new game is set to release exclusively for Nintendo Switch.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now for pre-order at $69.99 USD for the digital version and $129.99 USD for the physical version. The game is set to release on Friday, May 12.

In other news, Fortnite has been added to the 2023 Olympic esports series.
